February 16th Seminar
- Jackalope Grill
- 4:00-6:00 (Arrive 15 min. early.)
On Monday, February 16, Women Tasting Wine will feature wines from Sineann Winery, presented by Norman Mayall. Sineann is a small producer of highly sought after wine in Yamhill County, Oregon. Owner/Winemaker Peter Rosback sources his fruit from some of the best vineyards in the region: Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris from the Willamette Valley and the Hood River Valley; Cabernet, Merlot and Zinfandel from the Columbia Valley; Gewurztraminer from the Willamette Valley and the Columbia Gorge. In the spring, Peter travels to New Zealand to make Sauvignon Blanc (Awatere Valley) and Pinot Noir (Central Otago).
A family winery, Peter has kept his operation small. His focus is 100% winemaking, and over the years, with little PR, more and more people have sought out his tiny combination lab/tasting room. Almost all his wines are single-vineyard designated, with low crop levels to ensure that the best characteristics of the varietal and terroir shine through. His meticulous approach to winemaking - minimal processing, aging in French oak - helps to preserve the character of each wine he creates. The results are wines that both he and his growers take great pride in.
Join us as we sample some fine wines from the Sineann Winery, accompanied by Chef Tim's small culinary creations.
We will meet on Monday, February 16, from 4:00-6:00 at Jackalope Grill, 750 Lava Road. The cost is $45.
To facilitate making your reservation for the February 16 WTW Seminar, we will be accepting credit cards as well as cash or checks (made out to “Women Tasting Wine.”) You can drop off your check at Bend Wine Cellar Thursday or Saturday from 2:00-5:00. (Stop by Saturday and enjoy a complimentary wine tasting.) You can also call Diane (388-7564) with your credit card information. As the menu is a fixed one and not a la carte, please let us know at the time of registration if you have any food allergies. We need to have our final numbers in on the Wednesday before the event for the purpose of ordering the food, so payment needs to be received by Tuesday, February 10.
Remember, reservations are on a first come, first served basis and your payment is your reservation. Since we have to have our “head count” in by Wednesday morning, there will be no refunds for cancellations after 9:00 AM Wednesday, February 11, or for no-shows on the day of the seminar.
We hope to see you in February and at future monthly Women Tasting Wine Seminars!
