October 17 Seminar
"Wines of Beaujolais"
- Jackalope Grill
- 4:00-6:00 (Arrive 15 min. early.)
On Monday, October 17, Women Tasting Wine will feature Wines of Beaugolais, presented by Lance Steffen of Casa Bruno.
Beaujolais is an important wine region of eastern France, famous for its vibrant, fruity red wines. It is located immediately south of Burgundy, of which it is sometimes considered to be a part, despite being within the Rhone administrative region.
Almost all the wine produced in the region is red wine from the Gamay grape, producing mostly light-bodied Beaujolais wines that are fresh and lively, filled with bright fruit flavors and perfumed aromas.
The three different quality levels of Beaujolais are basic Beaujolais, the majority of all Beaujolais produced; Beaujolais Village, coming from certain villages in Beaujolais; and Cru, named for the village that produces this highest quality of Beaujolais. The granite hills crowning the northern half of France's Beaujolais regions were long ago deemed the best place to grow Gamay grapes.
We will meet on Monday, October 17, from 4:00-6:00 at Jackalope Grill. The cost is $45.
To facilitate making your reservation for the October 17 WTW Seminar, we will be accepting credit cards as well as cash or checks (made out to “Women Tasting Wine"). You can drop off your check at Bend Wine Cellar Thursday or Saturday from 2:00-5:00. (Stop by Saturday and enjoy a complimentary wine tasting.) You can also call Diane (541-420-1213) with your credit card information. As the menu is a fixed one and not a la carte, please let us know at the time of registration if you have any food allergies. We need to have our final numbers in on the Tuesday before the event for the purpose of ordering the food, so payment needs to be received by Sunday, October 9. Please note the cut-off date!
Remember, reservations are on a first come, first served basis and your payment is your reservation. Since we have to have our “head count” in by Wednesday morning, there will be no refunds for cancellations after 9:00 AM Wednesday, October 12, or for no-shows on the day of the seminar.
We hope to see you in October and at future monthly Women Tasting Wine Seminars!
